Confusion: Shpongle

The Shpongle, a unit of measurement of confusion, stems from the English psychedelic music group of the same name. Pioneers of the ‘psybient’ or ‘psychedelic dub’ genre of electronic music, Shpongle “frequently make use of sonic textures that approximate psychedelic states, and in so doing commonly renders the uninitiated ‘confused’.

A relative unit of measurement, one Shpongle [1TWS] is the level of confusion experienced on first exposure to the group’s music. This necessarily varies between individuals and so the ‘amount’ of confusion in a Shpongle also varies widely between individuals.

However, it has been found that the number of Shpongles an individual is required overcome in life to arrive at inner peace, 42, is constant across all cultures.
